To access a lounge, the Business Platinum Cardmember must show a valid Priority Pass membership card (or digital membership card), along with a boarding pass for travel on the same day and government-issued I.D. If you’re travelling with a guest, he or she may accompany you as a complimentary guest. Business Platinum Cardmembers will be charged the prevailing retail rate for any additional guests.

  • L8. Priority PassTM - These Terms and Conditions govern Business Platinum Card participation in and use of the Priority Pass program. Priority Pass is an independent airport lounge access program. For Cardmembers who enroled in Priority Pass after February 15, 2018, at any visit to a Priority Pass lounge that admits guests, you may bring in one (1) guest for no charge. Business Platinum Cardmembers will be charged for any additional guests. Additional accompanying guests are subject to a usage fee at the prevailing rate, which is subject to change without prior notice. Some lounges do not admit guests. Cardmembers who enroled in Priority Pass prior to February 15, 2018 will have a complimentary Priority Pass membership, but all lounge visits are subject to the prevailing retail rate. The fee applies to the Cardmember and each of his/her guests. As of February 15, 2018, all Cardmembers are eligible to opt-in to complimentary Priority Pass membership with complimentary lounge access for themselves and one guest, regardless of when the Cardmember originally enroled in Priority Pass. To opt-in, please call Small Business Services at 1-888-721-1044. By enroling in Priority Pass, you agree that you will be responsible for any additional accompanying guest visits and that your Business Platinum Card will be automatically charged after you have signed for the additional guest visit and it has been reported to Priority Pass by the participating lounge. Fine Hotels & Resorts – To receive Fine Hotels & Resorts program (FHR) amenities and rates, reservation must be booked with a Business Platinum Card in FHR negotiated rates and room categories through Platinum Card Travel Service. Payment must be made with an American Express Card in the Business Platinum Card member's name. Room upgrade based on availability. Limit one amenity per room, per stay. Amenity restrictions vary by hotel, are subject to change, and cannot be redeemed for cash. Business Platinum Card members may book up to three (3) rooms inclusive of FHR rates and amenities and must accompany the party as a guest for which FHR reservations are made. In the event the Business Platinum Card member cancels the reservation(s), FHR rates and amenities will no longer apply to any remaining reservation(s). Back-to-back stays within a 24-hour period at a single FHR property are considered one stay. Benefit value based on double occupancy. Actual value varies by property, length and date of stay. $450 value is based on a $80 breakfast credit, $100 special amenity, and a $365 value for 4 pm checkout based on fees charged for late checkout of generally 50% of the daily rate, based on an average daily rate of $730.

Avis – Discounts of between 5% - 25% off the lowest available discounted rate are available on qualifying rentals, at participating Avis locations in Canada and the contiguous U.S. and up to 20% off the lowest available discounted rate at participating locations internationally, upon presentation of AWD # C076700 at time of reservation. The discount received depends on fleet availability, location, type of car rented and seasonality. Discounts apply to time and/or kilometre/mileage charges only and not to any other charges in connection with the rental; such as taxes, Personal Accident Insurance, refueling service charge, drop-off charges and Loss Damage Waiver. Discount is not applicable to pre-pay rates. Certain blackout dates may apply. The International Airline Program (the "Program") offers a complimentary companion ticket, complimentary upgrade, special class fare or discounted fare on participating airlines to holders of an eligible basic American Express Cards ("Eligible Cards") as described in this Notice of Change brochure or are otherwise identified to you by American Express ("Eligible Cardmember"). In order to take advantage of the Program, the Eligible Cardmember's account must be active (meaning not cancelled).
    1. To receive a complimentary companion ticket, the Eligible Cardmember must purchase a full-fare non-restrictive ticket in first class or business class on a participating airline for an eligible flight originating in and returning to a designated gateway and charge the purchase of such ticket to an Eligible Card. Only select airline(s) offer a complimentary companion ticket. Limit of one complimentary companion ticket per travelling Eligible Cardmember per booking, Eligible Cardmember must be one of the travellers.
    2. To receive a complimentary upgrade to a designated class of service, a special class fare or a discounted fare on participating airline(s), the Eligible Cardmember must purchase a full-fare non-restrictive ticket or an eligible ticket on an eligible flight and class of service originating in and returning to a designated gateway and charge the purchase of the ticket to an Eligible Card. These three offers cannot be combined with each other or with any other offer at any time including the complimentary companion ticket offer. Only select airline(s) offer upgrades, special class fare or a discounted fare. Limit of one complimentary upgrade or special class fare ticket per travelling Cardmember per booking and limit of two discounted fare tickets per travelling.

    4. Eligible routes, class of service, code-share arrangements, designated gateways and similar matters relating to travel in the Program are determined by and will vary by airline.
    5. The Program is valid for travel purchases booked and/or completed within designated dates. Designated dates are subject to change without notice and are updated based on arrangements with participating airlines from time to time.
    6. All Program bookings and purchases must be made through American Express Travel Services of Amex Canada Inc. or at any other American Express Travel Services location* in Canada, except as we otherwise permit in our sole discretion. A travel service fee per booking may apply.
    7. The Program is subject to availability on the participating airlines' eligible flights. Participating airlines may have limited seat allocations and destinations in respect of the Program and may have other terms, conditions, exclusions, restrictions and fees. Eligible class(es) of service are determined by each participating airline.
    8. Tickets issued for this Program cannot be transferred or endorsed. Full-fare ticket and the associated complimentary ticket or discounted fare tickets, must be issued at the same time, for the same itinerary, with departure and return on the same flights and in the same class of service. All tickets are subject to all applicable government fees, taxes and charges including airport levies. Once issued, names cannot be changed. Eligible Cardmember and companions under the Program must travel together.
    9. Tickets must show a confirmed reservation for the entire trip and must be purchased in Canada using an Eligible Card prior to the start of travel. No split currency ticketing is permitted.
    10. Prepaid and miscellaneous charge orders ("MCOs") may not be permitted.
    11. Electronic tickets are mandatory and will be issued whenever the itinerary is e-ticket eligible.
    12. Re-routings, one-way, circle-trip and open-jaw itineraries may not be permitted.
    13. International Air Transport Association fare construction principles and rules apply. There are limitations on the number of transfers through the international hub(s) of the participating airline. Maximum numbers of transits allowed through international hub(s) may vary and are determined by participating airlines. Sector and side trips may not be allowed. Certain code share flights may not apply.
    14. Interlining is not permitted unless otherwise stated. Flights on participating airlines cannot be combined under the Program. Flights on nonparticipating airlines are not eligible for the Program and must be ticketed and priced separately. Canadian domestic fares to and from the designated departure gateways must be ticketed separately and are not included as part of the Program unless otherwise stated.
    15. Complimentary companion tickets have no refund value and do not accrue frequent flyer mileage. Once tickets are issued, changes, cancellations and refunds, as applicable, may be subject to a fee per ticket and will be at the Eligible Cardmember's expense. Refunds after departure or "no shows" may not be allowed. Refunds are allowed on the full fare ticket only, and must be accompanied by the unused companion ticket. Complimentary companion tickets are not refundable and have no refund value, however, if applicable, taxes and fees may be fully refundable. Refunds are allowed on discounted fare ticket and discounted companion fare ticket provided both tickets are refunded at the same time. Special class fare tickets and upgrade tickets will be refunded at the original ticket price subject to any applicable fees.
    16. This Program cannot be combined with any other promotion, travel agent discount, consolidator fares, travel industry and airline employee discounts, child, infant or senior citizen fare, frequent flyer award, group rate, corporate rate, MCOs, or any other promotional offer.
    17. Reservations must be ticketed no later than 30 days prior to the departure or reservations will be cancelled. Reservations made within 30 days prior to departure date must be ticketed within 72 hours after the bookings are made or the reservations will be cancelled. If a fare increases after the booking date, the participating airline will honour the lower fare at which the ticket was booked provided the ticket is purchased within 72 hours of the date of the fare increase. Reservations for Air France must be made as per the carrier's Flight Firming Rules & Regulations.
    18. We reserve the right to cancel or change the Program in whole or in part or change the terms and conditions of the Program at any time, for any reason and without notice. Participating airlines are subject to change without notice. Under no circumstances will Amex Bank of Canada, Amex Canada Inc. or any of their affiliates be liable for any loss or damage howsoever incurred as a result of the termination of the Program, the termination of any participating airline or any change in the Program.
    19. All recourse for any and all liability in connection with full-fare and/or companion tickets, special class fare tickets, discounted fare tickets and/or upgrade tickets issued under the Program, the refusal to issue or honour any such tickets, travel pursuant to any such tickets or the failure of any participating airline or other party to adhere to the terms of the Program is as against the relevant participating airline only. Under no circumstances will Amex Bank of Canada, Amex Canada Inc. or any of their affiliates be liable for any conduct, action or failure of any participating airline whatsoever, including, without limitation, for any expense, loss, injury (to person or property), damage, delay, flight cancellation, denied boarding, missed connection, accident or any other matter whatsoever, however suffered or caused, directly or indirectly in connection with tickets, transportation or other services provided or refused to be provided by any participating airline or other party. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Amex Bank of Canada, Amex Canada Inc. or any of their affiliates will not be liable for any incidental, indirect, consequential, special, punitive or exemplary damages of any kind whatsoever arising from or in connection with the Program (whether in contract, tort, strict liability, products liability or otherwise), including, without limitation, lost revenues, loss of profits or loss or interruption of business.
  • Toronto Pearson Valet Service – Basic and Supplementary Business Platinum Card members must charge the parking fee to their Business Platinum Card for the associated $25 Valet fee to be waived.   • Pearson Priority Lane – American Express Basic and Supplementary Cardmembers with a valid Business Platinum Card are entitled to access the Pearson Priority Lanes ("Priority Lane") during peak airport operating hours. The Priority Lanes are serviced by the Greater Toronto Airport Authority. Priority Lanes are located at select departure areas at Toronto's Pearson International Airport in Terminal 1 & 3. Access to a Pearson Priority Lane is available to eligible Cardmembers and companions travelling on the same itinerary upon the presentation of a valid, unexpired eligible Card. The name on the Card must match the name on the boarding pass. All passengers departing Pearson International Airport, including those accessing the Priority Lane are required to comply with airport security and customs screening requirements. Priority Lane access is subject to change or cancellation at any time and additional terms and conditions apply.
