  • Disability Plan for Small Business9†: Your Company can benefit from coverage for the financial hardships caused by permanent, total disability. If you, as a Sole Proprietor, become permanently, totally disabled as a direct result of an accidental injury, you are eligible to receive up to $10,000 in benefits. Benefits increase with the length of Card membership. After two years, benefits increase to a maximum of $25,000. After six years, the maximum amount is $50,000.
  • Employee Card Misuse Protection10: Your Card may be covered for eligible unauthorized charges if you terminate the Supplementary Cardmember and cancel their Card within 2 business days. Employee Card Misuse Protection is a benefit created specifically for business owners and it provides coverage of up to $100,000 per Cardmember in case employees misuse their employee Card for unauthorized charges.

Travel Coverage
  • $500,000 Travel Accident Insurance11†: Up to $500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance covers you, your spouse and dependent children under the age of 23 when any of you travel on a common carrier (plane, train, bus or ship) and charge your tickets to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express. Supplementary Cardmembers, their spouses and dependent children under age 23 are also covered.
  • Flight Delay Insurance12†: Charge your airline ticket to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express, and receive up to $500 coverage (aggregate maximum with Baggage Delay Insurance) for hotel, motel, restaurant expenses and other sundry items.
  • Baggage Delay Insurance13†: Book a flight with your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express and receive up to $500 coverage (aggregate maximum with Flight Delay Insurance) for reasonable and necessary emergency purchases.
  • Lost or Stolen Baggage Insurance13†: When you fully charge your airline tickets to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express, you can receive up to $500 coverage for loss or damage to your luggage or personal effects while in transit.
  • Hotel/Motel Burglary Insurance13†: Automatic coverage of up to $500 against the loss of most personal items (excluding cash) if your hotel or motel room is burglarized. Coverage is in effect as long as you have fully booked and paid for your accommodations with your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express.
  • Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance14†: Save money when travelling with Car Rental Theft and Damage Insurance. Where allowed by law, you will be automatically covered for damage or theft of your rental car with an MSRP of up to $85,000. To take advantage of this protection, simply decline the Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) or similar option offered by the car rental company, and fully charge your rental to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express. There's no additional charge for this coverage, and you save yourself the daily insurance fee (usually $16 to $23 per day) charged by the car rental company.
  • Travel Emergency Assistance15: Provides out-of-town emergency medical and legal referrals by telephone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Account must be in good standing. Starpoints will be earned on the amount of all eligible purchases, less credits and returns. Funds advances, interest, Amex cheques, balance transfers, annual fees (if applicable), other fees, and charges for travellers cheques and foreign currencies are not purchases and do not qualify for Starpoints.

Basic and Supplementary Card annual fees may be tax deductible in Canada, if used solely for business purposes; please consult your tax professional.

Free night awards apply to standard rooms only as defined by each participating property; contact the property before booking to check availability. To view the full terms and conditions, visit www.spg.com.

Account must be in good standing. To qualify for the 20,000 Bonus Starpoints, you must have at least $1,500 in net purchases posted to your account on or before your three month anniversary date. Offer subject to change. Five nights are based on five mid-week nights, or two weekend nights and three mid-week nights, in a standard room at a Category 2 property. Starpoints required for a free night range from 2,000 Starpoints for a weekend night in a standard room at a Category 1 property to 35,000 Starpoints for any night in a standard room at Category 7 properties. Category 7 properties that are all suites or villas require higher Starpoints redemption. For complete information on reward stays or the number of Starpoints required for a stay, please see www.SPG.com. Subject to Change. Starwood may change the Category in which a specific SPG participating hotel is classified at any time. The amount of Starpoints required to obtain rooms at SPG participating hotels varies by category of the SPG participating hotel and may also vary by time of year.

Each year if, before the annual reset date, you reach $40,000 in net purchases charged to your account you will earn a Free Weekend Night Award redeemable within 1 year for an available single or double occupancy standard room at a participating Starwood Category 1-4 property for one Friday, Saturday or Sunday night.  Account must be in good standing.  On the annual reset date, the amount of annual net purchases resets to zero. Additional terms apply.

Each year if, before the annual reset date, you reach $30,000 in net purchases charged to your account you will earn Gold Preferred Guest level of the Starwood Preferred Guest program for a minimum of 1 year (unless you are already enrolled at that or a higher level).  Account must be in good standing.  On the annual reset date, the amount of purchases resets to zero.  Subject to terms and conditions at www.spg.com. If you already have Gold Preferred or Platinum Preferred status with Starwood Preferred Guest, you will retain that status as long as you meet the requirements specified in the Starwood Preferred Guest terms and conditions.

Purchase must be charged in full to an American Express Card issued by Amex Bank of Canada. Subject to availability and to event and ticketing agent terms, conditions and fees. Not all seats are available. All sales are final. No refunds. No exchanges.

Maximum of 9 Supplementary Cards per account. Supplementary Card applicant must be the age of majority. Supplementary Cards have an annual fee of $50 each, which is waived for the first year.

Employee Card Misuse Protection is not insurance. It is a benefit made available to you by Amex Bank of Canada and Administered by Royal & Sun Alliance Insurance Company of Canada. Travel Accident Insurance provides automatic coverage of up to $500,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance when you fully charge your common carrier (plane, train, ship or bus) tickets to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express. Use the Card to book tickets for your spouse, dependent children (under 23) or any Supplementary Cardmember and they will also be covered. Spouse and dependent children (under 23) of Supplementary Cardmembers are also covered. Travel Accident Insurance is Underwritten by Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada.

All the services associated with the Travel Emergency Assistance are provided worldwide with the exception of some countries (it is best to check with Customer Service). In addition, services may be limited or prevented by acts of God, war, civil commotion, labour disputes, unavailability of goods or services, or refusal of permission by local authorities.

When you charge the full price on eligible purchases to your Starwood Preferred Guest Business Credit Card from American Express, the coverage given under the manufacturer’s original warranty is automatically doubled for up to one additional year. Transactions must be completed between November 15, 2016 and November 15, 2017 and subsequently posted to your account. Merchants are typically assigned codes and categorized based on what they sell. Earn rate of 1 Starpoint for every $1 applies if the merchant code is not in an eligible category or is not made directly from the provider of the good or service, e.g. through a third party or by using a mobile device (e.g. smart phone) with an attached card reader.
